NEWBERRY, S.C. (AP)- A Newberry County man and his two sons are in jail after pointing a rifle at a SLED helicopter.
Forty-three-year-old Michael Phillip Greenberg, 19-year-old Robert Michael Greenberg and 18-year-old Sam Greenberg are all charged with assault with intent to kill and conspiracy.
Newberry County officers had borrowed a SLED helicopter to conduct an investigation at a Glymph Road residence in Pomaria.
As the helicopter was flying over, the three suspects began waving their arms and making obscene gestures toward the officers and started throwing rocks at the helicopter.
Newberry County Sheriff Lee Foster says the men then went into a nearby mobile home and came back out with a rifle. The officers saw Michael Greenberg load the weapon and take aim at the helicopter. The helicopter quickly left the area and notified ground units to respond.
It is unclear whether the suspect actually shot at the helicopter. The investigation is ongoing.
No one was injured during the incident.

"I personally know this family and those kids have gotten the short end of the stick to say the least. I guarantee the father was not teaching to shoot and kill anyone.
You really haven't a clue here."

"ok i see a different problem. The parent teaching his children to shoot AND KILL. What would drive a father to do this? Was he beat as a young toddler, neglected, etc. I am not justifying shooting or even pointing a weapon at ANYONE, but I look at my own life. I was beat as a young boy, my father pinned me up against a wall, starting choking me, telling me he was going to kill me. THIS WAS MY FATHER. I look at me as a father now, and when my son throws his tantrums, and i can literally feel my anger kindle. But what i do is, turn him over to his mother or walk away and let him have a fit. Listen I am not an expert but I do feel how you were treated as a youth affects you as an adult, but there are a lot of people that do drugs does that mean you have to do them. there's people that drink and drive does that mean you have to. NO YOU DONT have to do to others what someone did to you. I am honored to say I have NEVER hit my son, yelled at my son, all because I made a decision that what my father did to me I WILL NOT do to my son WHY? because I know how my son WILL feel after I beat him, cuss him , belittle him, etc. I'm not licensed, certified, or anything but I do know that if you did not like how you were treated as a youth, dont you think your own son would not like it either. I mean hello? and just because someone did something to you, even if it's wrong and illegal, does that mean you should do it to someone else
YOU CAN DO IT WITH A MADE UP MIND"
